Carter Branch, Wilson Lake to Second Creek, Wheeler Lake

10/19:  Practically there; left anchorage at 1040, arrived at the Wheeler Lock at 1105 and left at 1155.  Northern Spirit joined us again and we found another great, isolated and beautiful wilderness anchorage.  On the hook and relaxing by 1220. Bonnie says…Ah, I just love anchoring in these oh so quiet little coves surrounded by autumn colors, Herons, small brown/grey ducks/ turtles sunning on any available log…….and perfect shoreline to walk the girls. Sorry—practicality trumps nature’s beauty…but it does enhance it!! Walking the girls thru the woods did bring us to an open field and a farm. The River can be deceiving with isolated spots with civilization not far away. Loved the peace. Dinghied over to Norther Spirit for “c”tails. Ron and Lynn are from Britt Ontario—Georgian Bay and have stopped there in 2011!. They have 2 daughters the same ages as our girls….and also have a pup, Farley, aboard. Good people!! Dinner: Griller cheese burgers and Mexican Black Beans enhanced with goodies!
